Software Release Manager

As a Software Release Manager you will secure timely delivery of software to the different events throughout the development process and the maintenance of our products. You do this by driving the internal suppliers to secure that all steps are taken in due time for the deliveries. You also secure that the internal suppliers have the correct knowledge either by recommending training or by coaching them yourself.

The role will include quite a lot of work in our various systems for release management. You will be working in the entire chain from Part Change Requests to the final deliveries to Production and Aftermarket. You will in this position get a unique possibility to see and work in the entire chain.

You work in a team including the software responsible persons, BOM coordinators, the Software Configuration Center, Integration and Test, Manufacturing and Aftermarket. The team is primarily located in China and in Sweden.

It is a very high pace in the work and changes are frequent. You need to have the ability to quickly adjust and take actions to manage new challenges.

You will work in the Electrical Integration Module Team in the Electrical department. The Electrical Integration Module Team is a cross functional team working with EMC and ELP but also contains planning and coordination functions as well as the Software Configuration Center.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Drive and follow up software deliveries throughout the process steps
  • Develop recovery plans or recommendations for actions in case deliveries are not in time
  • Report status to Project and Line management
  • Identify and propose process, methods and tool improvements
  • Drive or participate in improvements

Requirements

  • Strong in driving yourself and others
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from project management
  • Good ability to learn and understand processes, methods and tools connected to sw management
  • Able to work in a structured way
  • Able to handle a quick pace of changes
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Need to be willing to share your knowledge with other members of the team
  • Cultural sensitivity, especially Asian – European culture
  • Able to travel from time to time
